We needed someone to stop in, inspect the property, and ensure that everything was secure. We needed help to coordinate the maintenance, let in contractors, and open / close the cottage for the season. We needed a local company to provide real-time updates so that we knew our precious cabin wasn't pulverized in the latest polar vortex. 

We never looked forward to what we would find with that first visit in the Spring. Had the raccoons moved in - had a person?  Was there a power outage? Did a pipe burst?  Least of all, we didn't want to spend our precious vacation time doing home improvement projects.

Fast forward and here we are. Filling that gap for people just like us - homeowners that need a little piece of mind and regular updates.

Great Lakes Cottage Watch is locally owned and based out of Elk Rapids, MI by folks who understand what is required to assist in remote ownership in the Great Lakes region. We operate with a sense of pride in a job well done as if your property was our own. 

We formed Great Lakes Cottage Watch leveraging career skills in  building inspections, project management, technology, customer service, home maintenance, and a common sense approach to getting things done.  We are insured and Certified. 

We believe business can be a force for good. When additional work is needed we partner with local businesses to get the job done quickly. The Up North communities thrive when local businesses support each other.   

We are a US Army Veteran family. We believe in volunteering our time to serve others locally and internationally. We've volunteered with the Patriot Guard, hospice, dog rescues, the elderly, homeless, and women coming out of trafficking. Ask us and we would be happy to help you get involved too.
